ST. CATHARINES, Ont. (February 8, 2010) -
Julian Chang of Richmond Hill, Ont., qualified for the CIS Championship this past weekend at the OUA Championship hosted by Brock University.
Chang, who will be making his second appearance at the national championship, swam a time of 23.84 seconds in the preliminaries of the 50m Free to meet the qualifying standard of 23.89. In the finals, Chang finished seventh to help the men’s team earn 12 points in the team standings.
On the women’s side,
Margo Bacher of Cornwall, Ont., had the women’s top individual result as she won the B-Final in the 100m Breaststroke to finish ninth overall.
Other notable results include
Christopher Kreutzner of Toronto, finishing eighth in the 200m Breaststroke and 10th in the 100m Breaststroke.
Tanner Cassidy of Whitehorse also had a Top 10 finish as he placed 10th in the 1500m Free.
In the overall team standings, the Queen’s men finished in seventh with 177 overall points while the Queen’s women finished 10th with 94 points.
