KINGSTON, Ont. (February 8, 2010) – Queen's University Athletics & Recreation and Queen's Fencing is proud to present a NCCP Coaching Clinic: Aide-Moniteur (Foil) program on March 12-14 at Duncan McArthur Hall Gymnasium on campus.
Queen's Fencing Head Coach,
Hugh Munby (Ph.D., Prévôt D'Armes) will lead the session. Munby is a NCCP Certified Aide-Moniteur Learning Facilitator. This clinic is sanctioned by the Ontario Fencing Association.
The clinic follows the NCCP Aide-Moniteur program with topics including: teaching & learning, planning an armband program, planning & delivering a group practice, individual lessons & lesson types, NCCP code of ethics, making ethical decisions, safety, supporting athletes in training, performance analysis, athlete development, coaching & fencing technique, fencing theory & terminology, managing a program.
Each candidate will develop an action plan for his or her coaching development. The action plan, which can extend over 10 months, may include home study, working with a mentor coach on specific skill sets, etc., as needed. Evaluations for certification will be conducted when candidates are deemed ready by the Learning Facilitator.
Registration Requirements
- The clinic is limited to 10 Aide-Moniteur candidates.
- Candidates should have technical skills equivalent to blue armband. Minimum age is 16.
- Candidates must bring hard copies of the CFF Aide-Moniteur coaching manual to the clinic.
- Candidates must provide proof of OFA competitive or official (coach or referee) membership.
Registration Fee:
- $250 + GST(non-refundable) before March 5. $300 + GST after March 5
- Registration fee includes $20 CFF fee. Fee does not include examination fee for certification.
